AI-commerce catalogue readiness

Your product can be right. Your catalogue can still lose the sale.

More shopping journeys now begin before a customer ever reaches your store. AI shopping tools compare products on their behalf. If the information that makes yours the right choice is missing, inconsistent or hard to find, your product can be passed over before the customer even sees it. SyntropyData finds those gaps, establishes and verifies the right product information, prepares the changes, and asks you only for the decisions that genuinely need you.

Bramwell Three-Seat Sofa

AF-1001  ·  $2,340

A generous three-seater in a warm oatmeal weave over a kiln-dried hardwood frame. At 86 inches wide it anchors a room without crowding it. Covers zip off for gentle machine washing — and the weave is best hand-washed to protect it.

Complete, persuasive, beautifully written.

AI is opening new routes to your products.

Where the facts stay implicit

Your product can still be the easier one to pass over.

Catalogue readiness doesn’t decide what an external system recommends. It affects how reliably your product can be assessed and included along the way.

Why it matters

Every product fact is in one of three states.

● Explicit and consistent

Stated where systems read, in a form they can compare. Nothing to do here.

◐ True, but not stated explicitly

Carried in prose, images, tables or inconsistent formats. A system may be able to work it out. At shopping scale, it may not spend the effort — it can move on to a product whose facts are already clear.

Usually the largest group — and the most reassuring. The knowledge is already yours; the fact simply needs to travel.

○ Not established anywhere

Not carried by your catalogue at all. Where an authoritative source can establish it, we establish it — and validate it independently.

Where only you can answer, it becomes one question, asked once.

Rarely about writing new content. Mostly about stating what is already true where shopping systems can rely on it.

How it works

What matters. What is true. What actually landed.

We know what matters

Public commerce standards help determine which information matters for each kind of product.

A chair is investigated for what matters about chairs.

We establish what is true

We investigate the catalogue you already publish and, where appropriate, authoritative external evidence.

Anything established outside your catalogue is independently validated before it is relied upon.

We prepare the work and verify the result

We resolve what we can ourselves and leave you only genuine business decisions.

Then we prepare the implementation work and re-check what actually landed.

Your part

We do the catalogue legwork. You handle only what genuinely needs you.

Investigating, digging, checking, validating and preparing the change set is our work. Facts we have already established from evidence do not come back to you as confirmation tasks.

What reaches you is short: a business fact only you hold, a commitment only you can make, a judgement between two defensible answers. Grouped, deduplicated and asked once — then reused wherever it legitimately applies.

Everything we resolve stays visible, with its evidence. You can overrule any of it. You are simply not asked to.

Our side

What you receive · four documents, in order

The product is the documents, not another system to operate.

There is nothing new for your team to run. Your free Snapshot starts from your public catalogue, so no credentials are needed to begin. If you continue, the work comes to you through four documents: the Snapshot shows the first signals, the Audit does the catalogue-wide investigation, the Review Pack brings you what we have resolved and only the decisions that genuinely need you, and the Re-check confirms what actually landed. The excerpts below follow one product through that service.

Excerpt

We found the first signal. One finding on one of the five products the Snapshot sampled, shown in full. A Snapshot samples rather than assessing everything, so it reports a signal worth investigating — never a grade or a verdict on the catalogue.

Dimensions

What your page says“Overall: 86"W × 37"D × 33"H — seat depth 22"”
Where it livesProduct page · specification line
In your catalogue dataNot included — no dimension field a system can compare

Nothing here is broken. The size is real, published and true — it just isn’t stated as a value a shopping system can use directly.

Why it matters

Your page can contain the answer and still lose the sale. AI could work out the width if it opened and read the product page. But when a shopping system is comparing hundreds of products, it has to narrow the field before it can investigate every candidate in depth. If the fact that makes your product the right fit isn’t available at that stage, your product can be passed over before the answer is ever read.

The pattern showed on 2 of the 5 products sampled, this one among them. A Snapshot stops there — it says whether a full Audit is worth buying, not how far the pattern runs.

Standards & evidence

Public commerce standards tell us what matters. Evidence tells us what is true.

If an applicable fact is not available from your catalogue, we can sometimes establish it from an authoritative source — and validate it independently against that exact product before it is relied upon.

What tells us where to look

Reusable product types — which attributes matter for this kind of product
schema.org Product & Offer
Google Merchant Center product data
OpenAI product-data fields

The public commerce specifications we use to work out which product information matters for a product of this kind. They tell us what to investigate — never what a product’s value is.

What tells us what is true

Your product pages — prose, tables, images, options
Your structured product data and public feed
Where a fact is missing: the manufacturer or brand, a qualified supplier, an authoritative registry

Values are never copied between products or merchants. A product type tells us which facts matter; only evidence tells us this product’s value.

Keep your catalogue healthy

Available after your first completed cycle — normally your Re-check.

Catalogue information changes as products, policies and storefronts evolve. After your first completed cycle you can continue with a twelve-month Catalogue Health plan — two six-monthly cycles at 10% less, or four quarterly cycles at 20% less, compared with buying the equivalent Audit and Fix Sprint allowance separately.

Every cycle compares your catalogue with its previous verified state. Paid annually in advance.

Honest answers

Asked by every careful merchant.

How much work does this create for us?

Far less than a catalogue project of this size normally implies. We don’t ask you to confirm facts we have already established from evidence, and there is no field-by-field approval queue. What reaches you is the short list that genuinely needs the merchant — grouped, deduplicated, and asked once.

Where does information come from when our catalogue doesn’t carry it?

From authoritative sources for that product: the manufacturer or brand, a qualified supplier or distributor, an authoritative registry. Never from arbitrary web pages, and never copied from a similar product. Anything established this way is independently validated before it becomes a catalogue fact, and the source travels with it.

Do you change our store, and what access do you need?

Nothing changes during a Snapshot or an Audit. Inside a Fix Sprint we implement the change set on your authority where your platform supports it; otherwise your team applies it, and we verify what landed either way.

Nothing is needed to begin — we start from your public catalogue. On Shopify, read-only access lets us inspect your current catalogue state reliably; it cannot change products.

What do you actually guarantee?

That every value we state is established from evidence — your catalogue or an authoritative source, independently validated — or stays a question for you. Nothing is invented, and values are never copied between products.

We do not promise rankings, recommendation or placement. Those are decisions of external systems. We improve what your catalogue states and how dependably it can be used.

What happens after the Snapshot?

You may stop there, or buy the Audit at the exact price shown for your catalogue size. There is no obligation to continue, and no sales call in between.

We don’t replace your product knowledge, and we don’t rewrite your brand. We establish what is true about your products, and make it something machines can use.
